Protection refers to safeguarding the rights, safety, and well-being of individuals—particularly vulnerable groups—from harm, abuse, exploitation, and violence. It involves both the prevention of risks and threats, as well as timely responses to incidents, while promoting dignity, respect, and equitable access to essential services and support systems. The ultimate goal of protection is to foster a safe and enabling environment where individuals can live with dignity and realize their full potential.
